Link to Music Camp Video....

This term in STEM the Foundation and Year 1/2 students are learning about materials and their properties as they consider how materials are used in buildings and shelters. The story of “The Three Little Pigs” provided some wonderful inspiration for designing, planning and creating many different houses from a variety of different materials selected by the students.

It has been fabulous seeing so many students getting involved in running club which has commenced again this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. The aim of Running Club is to motivate the kids to stay active, and to also build up their fitness in preparation for Maryborough later this year. We’ve even had a few family members joining in too which has been great! Running club kicks off at 8am every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning (weather dependant), so please feel free to join us if you can.

It's great to have former students Min and Emma helping out with Running Club. Don't forget to pop on over to Breakfast Club after you've done few laps!!!

2022 Energy Breakthrough (HPV) Parent Information Night

Dear Families,

After a two-year hiatus we are thrilled to announce we will again be competing in the 2022 Energy Breakthrough event in Maryborough, taking place from the 16th to the 20th of November.

Since 1991, the Energy Breakthrough has provided opportunities for students, teachers, parents and local industry to work together to design and construct a vehicle, a machine or innovation in technology that will represent an ‘energy breakthrough’.
The program is unique in that all teams must compete across three areas of assessment:

  1. Design and Construction,
  2. Display and Presentation and
  3. Trials.
The Energy Breakthrough isn’t just a once-a-year event. School groups work throughout the year to design, build and test machines within detailed specifications.
The program encourages participants to examine and use the latest technology while considering its impact on the environment and the way people live locally and globally.  It requires a team effort and an across-the-curriculum approach.
These groups then bring their vehicles and machines to Maryborough in Victoria for a huge celebration in which they can demonstrate and trial them in action.

This year, Tootgarook Primary School has entered two Human Powered Vehicle teams as well as two Push Kart teams.

We are putting an invite out to any families who are wanting more information regarding the event to attend our Parent Information Session that will take place in the STEM Room Monday the 15th of August from 5PM. If you are not able to attend, we will happily provide any information you require at a later time.

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you next Monday night.

The 2022 Victorian State Schools Spectacular brings together government school communities from across Victoria to produce a 3-hour live show including music, dance, circus arts, puppetry and skating.

This year’s show will be performed to an audience of about 12,000 people at John Cain Arena on Saturday 10 September, over 2 shows at 1 pm and 6:30 pm.

Talented Victorian students will feature on stage, while many other students will work behind the scenes, gaining unique, on-the-job, professional experience.

Tootgarook Primary School is part of the Mass Choir.

For a fun, family entertainment experience, and to cheer on students from the audience, be quick to secure tickets through Ticketek.

Adult tickets cost $40; children aged under 15, $20; and concession, $30.
