COVID and Flu Safety Measures

With a number of students and staff being absent and/or sent home, we again have masks available to all classrooms across our school. We encourage masks to be worn in all indoor settings, as the health and safety of all students, staff and parents/carers are our priority.Although masks have not been mandated to be worn, we encourage staff and students aged 8 and above to wear a mask to help support the stop of COVID19 and influenza, until the end of the winter season.

To ensure that we do absolutely everything possible to support our health and safety, please speak with your child/ren about the importance of these COVIDsafe/influenza safe steps, by:

· staying home if you are not well· wearing masks in indoor settings· washing and sanitizing hands regularly.· avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.· covering noses and mouths when we cough or sneeze, or sneeze into your   elbow· use disinfectant wipes in classrooms to wipe down areas regularly.· keeping a sensible physical distance, where possibly practical· wear appropriate warm uniform for the temperature on the day (jumper,     pants etc).

Air purifiers remain on at all times in classrooms, hallways and office spaces, as well as all classrooms having ample supply of hand sanitiser and wet wipes. We appreciate your support and understanding with this matter.

Our House Captains were excited to introduce our new House Mascots at Assembly last week. They are:

Pelican - Wargil

Fish - Warup

Echidna - Gawarn

Frog - Woorruk

Congratulations to Alicia (Miss Perkins) and Daniel on the safe arrival of their gorgeous daughter Ava. 18.2.22 ❤️❤️❤️

VSSS
The Victorian State Schools Spectacular (VSSS) group had our first big rehearsal on Wednesday the 20/7/22 in Melbourne Town Hall with all the rest of the VSSS choir (around 1000 students from all over Victoria).

We left school at 7.30am and returned around 4.15pm and rehearsed all the songs, including a new one just added to the program.

During our breaks, we went for a couple of quick walks to enjoy the fact that we were right in the middle of Melbourne CBD.

We are looking forward to our next rehearsal on Wednesday 17/8/22, where we will meet all the solo singers and part of the orchestra.
