All families will now be familiar with the government’s ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown, which is going to have major implications for how the school progresses through each week of this term. This week and last week remain relatively straightforward with all students working remotely, excluding the 50 students on-site each day who have been deemed vulnerable or have parents and carers as authorised workers.
The staged transition back to school will be complex and challenging for the school and all families, as students will be BOTH on-site and remote learning on specified days. As always, we encourage all families to carefully monitor all school communication closely over the coming weeks as we carefully plan the return to school for all students. Return to school plan –
Face to Face Learning from Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th October.
Remote Learning on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd October.
When coming to school, Foundation students will need to be dropped off at the gates on Wilkinson Street between 8:30am – 8:45am and picked up at this same location at 3:15pm.
Remote Learning from Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th October.
Face to Face Learning on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd October.
When coming to school, Year One/Two students will need to be dropped off at the gates on Wilkinson St between 8:30am– 8:45am and picked up at the same location at 3:15pm.
Years Three to Six:
Remote Learning continues from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd October
Onsite support will continue to be provided for students whose parents/carers are deemed as authorised workers and those students deemed vulnerable, each day next week. These students will need to arrive at school between 8:30am – 8:45am and register their attendance at the main office (as has been the case over recent weeks). These students will continue to be dismissed at 3:15pm each day.
Please note, on days where students are undertaking Face to Face learning, they will not require onsite support under the authorised worker structure.
As Foundation, Year One and Year Two students begin to prepare for a return to school next week, can we suggest that these students begin to wear their school uniforms during their online Meets over the next few days, in order to mentally prepare them for their return to school. Please also ensure that they have a SunSmart hat, it is highly recommended that they wear a face mask whilst in their classrooms. If your child has a reusable mask, please ensure their name is clearly marked on the inside of the mask. During drop off and pick up times next week, we ask that parents do not enter the grounds. Teachers will be at the gates in the morning and afternoon to ensure all students are well supported. If there is a matter that needs to be discussed with your child’s teacher, please either email this information through or email a request for a meeting time. Alternatively, please feel welcome to phone the school’s main office to speak to a member of the school’s leadership team. We will publish a detailed plan for Monday 25th to Friday 29th October in next week’s newsletter. If any parents have any queries in regards the transition back to school, please don’t hesitate to contact the school’s main office on 59852864.
